| "Lunch and Learn" - SMMC Visiting Nurses is hosting a free "lunch and learn" on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 entitled "Unlocking the Mystery of Achieving Weight Control." The session, which is specifically designed for persons 65 years of age and older and their guests, will be held from 11:30am - 1:00pm at St Martha’s Church on Route 1 in Kennebunk. Lunch will be provided, and there is no charge for attending.
The session will address how to determine if you are at a healthy weight, how being outside the health weight range may increase your risk for certain chronic conditions, and actions you can take to help achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
The speaker will be Jodi Vlodek Berren, RD, LD, registered dietician for SMMC Visiting Nurses’ Diabetes Program. Jodi has been helping individuals achieve their diet and fitness goals for over 10 years.
Persons planning to participate need to preregister by calling SMMC Visiting Nurses at 985-1000 by April 27. Space is limited, and available on a first come, first serve basis. Funding for this program is provided by the Huntington Common Charitable Fund for Seniors of the Kennebunk Savings Bank Foundation.

SMMC Visiting Nurses administers the Breast and Cervical Health Program, with the goal of
reducing mortality from breast and cervical cancers through early detection. The Program provides eligible York
County women with no cost mammograms, pap tests, breast and pelvic exams, as well as certain diagnostic or follow
